TAKING THE LEAD: Sabc to launch new 24 hour news channel. picture www.sabc.co.za |
The SABC, which is the public broadcaster, introduces new 24-hour news channel over their three television channels (This was revealed by a new GCEO Lulama Makhubo during the interview with channel24 on Monday. Well...it seems as SABC is taking a ladder to the top in satisfying their publics and sustaining this competitive industry. While reading this article I picked up some of the good practices which were taken; in terms of communication and partnership.
THEY DID IT RIGHT:
- This news channel would be multilingual.
- Will be available around african continent.
- They have partnership with Multichoice' DStv.
The news channel would first be available on DStv and later be offered on digital torrestrial television when the signal came on. To SABC these are the good news, but I'm really concerned about two questions; SABC is known by poor service-are they going to manage all these channels? secondly, as this channel will be available on DStv-what about those who don't have DStv?...Well...afterall I would like to congratulate the SABC for their work. I must say that this is one of the good things SABC has done in many years. I also like the fact that the news channel will be multilingual, lets just hope that they will be able to fulfil this promise and ofcause sustain it.
ReplyDeleteofcourse it will accomodate everyone with all south african official languages
DeleteMan since they have a partnership with DSTV I think they will be able to manage it,besides I like what they are doing they must keep on doing their good job
ReplyDeleteyes sa we know that DStv is a reputable media company
Deletewell its a geat initiation by them but they shuld also make a sport channel since they call themselve the home of sports we are tired of this thing of broadcasting games late
ReplyDeletelets hope maybe they wll be sabc sport, sabc entertainment next, for now thy are just testing
DeleteIt was time the national broadcast take their step forward because the competition is high and they have to serve the nation at all time.
ReplyDeleteit shows development and maintaining their brand
Deleteat least we can now see the enhancement that SABC is stil vibrant, although we cannot compare DsTV with the public broadcaster like SABC. of couse they are poor in service but i think will successfully manage.
ReplyDeletei think it will be great for SABC to have a new channel but what they should focus on is bringing some shows on SABC like the series THE wild and Idols so that the people who don't have DsTv can have the chance to watch this shows
ReplyDeleteyeah bornwise i toatally agree with you
DeleteThis shows that SABC is improving its stardard to see their audience being well informed regarding what is happening around them and far away from them.
ReplyDeletethey c that competition is very tight in this industry
DeleteIt is a good thing that one out of many media companies is accommodating everyone with their mother tongue.
ReplyDeletelets hope its going to accomodate all people as they said on their statement
DeleteWhat is this channel all about this are news to my ears?tell us more Mr reporter.
