This will surely be an intresting event to watch, our traditional music is not given much attention in the entertaintment idustry. I think tradional music should be given its rightful status and role in the South African music industry and the SATMA are a steping stone towards doing so.
ReplyDeleteyeah there is no much media coverage.big up to CEO goba for introducing such event
DeleteI have to agree with Thomas, traditional music is really not given much attention compared to the other genres of music. Thanks to the SATMA for trying by all means to remind people that traditional music is also as important as the other genres and as much interesting too. i think a lot still has to be done because its only a few young people who follow traditional music.
ReplyDeletebut for now there are no exuses lets support our local music here are the samas
DeleteYes Mr Ndlovu it`s me against you bhutiza, you know that Saba Mbixane is the king of this thing my man, your Tshat`ugodo is not gonna make it hahaa. ReplyDeleteyeah if you dnt know where you from, you cannt know where you are going
Deleteas much as they can make awards for traditional music they should do the sam for other music genres because the sama awards those not cover all aspects of music this will be a great ceremony many the best win
ReplyDeleteaccording to my knowledge they cover all types of music as its a traditional one
DeleteTraditional music is not that popular in today's generation and they are trying so hard to make sure that tghe music reach the market but doesn't have enough support compared to the music played today.Hopefully the event will be the best and big up to SATMA for keeping the traditonal music alive.
ReplyDeletebut its better now, compare to early 90s where there were no traditional music shows in our raio stations
Deleteits good to know that SATMA is there to appriciate traditional musicians.
