South African teen tops Ryan Seacrest's competition

Johannesburg - South African teenager Filipa Carmo da Silva has won Seacrest's cover song competition for her One Direction's hit song Story of my life.

Filipa, the Gauteng based teen, was listed in top 26 category  where she knocked-out all contestants even the most trusted UK X Factor twins John and Edward who came second. To the listeners of 947 Highveld Stereo's Breakfast Xpress Filipa is not a surprise as she became familiar on air with Darren Simpson and co-host Samantha. Filipa Carmo da Silva, who will be studying at the Cape Academy of Performing Arts in Cape Town is very excited about this announcement, and she said she is working on her new debut album which will be released next month.
